About Me
My name is David Pearl and I am a senior at Northgate High School. I joined the technology Help Desk to help bring Northgate's technology into the 21st century. I believe technology improves education by integrating newer and better ways of learning into the classroom environment, and helps students, parents, and teachers become more adept with all of the available resources in the community. I have experience working with all of the major Operating Systems on computers and all of the major Operating Systems on mobile devices. One of my all-time favorite applications is Pushbullet as it helps me to stay organized and current across all of my devices (Android, Windows, Mac, iOS). It also allows quick and easy file transfers across any or all devices.
Mr. Tobin and I brainstormed and came up with the idea of the technology Help Desk in an educational setting as a proof of concept - the main idea is to show that students can be successful at teaching others in community, and that the Help Desk can teach students, parents, and teachers how to better utilize technology. I have a deep appreciation for technology and realize that what I take for granted did not exist in its current capacity even a decade ago. It is my aim to teach people how to use the resources that exist in the world to their full potential. Besides school, you will find me playing tennis with friends, playing the piano, reading books, tutoring various subjects (math and science mostly), at NGSE meetings (Northgate Software Engineering; I am the Co-President and in charge of design), rebuilding/refurbishing technology, and reading technology articles to try and stay current (truly an impossible task). |
